🧱 Welcome to The Founder’s Block
Dispatch No. 001
I’ve always been drawn to the idea of building things that last—businesses, buildings, communities, dreams.
But what I’ve learned is that the process rarely feels clean or linear. Most of it happens somewhere in the middle—when the dream is alive but not quite clear, the pressure’s mounting, and you’re working late wondering if the path you’re on is really going to work.
That’s where The Founder’s Block comes in.
This newsletter is a space for the builders: the founders, creators, developers, and dreamers who are trying to shape something real and meaningful from scratch.
Each week, I’ll share reflections, thoughts, and opinions from my own journey—across real estate, entrepreneurship, and small-town revitalization. You’ll get behind-the-scenes looks at the deals I’m structuring, the mistakes I’ve made, the wins worth celebrating, and the 2 a.m. insomnia that comes with chasing a long-term vision.
I co-own a few ventures—from a high-end interior design firm and retail shop to a real estate investment company focused on breathing life back into downtown blocks. The through-line? Building something that matters.
This isn’t a place for highlight reels or guru talk. It’s for honest, thoughtful stories from the front lines.
The messy middle.
The long game.
The Block.
If you're building a life that doesn't fit inside a cubicle—or if you're already out there doing the work—I’m glad you’re here.
Let’s build something. Cheers.
—Josh
